One of our staff was confirmed to have the COVID-19 Infection on 20 April 2020. She was last at work on 19 April 2020. We have reached out to her family to provide support. We have also reached out to the families of our residents to keep them updated.
We want to assure everyone that we have conducted a thorough cleaning and disinfection of the affected areas of our Home. We are also working with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) to screen our residents and staff. We will continue to closely monitor their health, which is our top priority.
Our Home had taken the necessary precautionary measures as advised by MOH and AIC. We did this to ensure the safety and well-being of all at our Home. These include twice-daily temperature taking to monitor for signs of fever and/or respiratory symptoms, implementing split zones across our Home to minimize cross-contact, as well as stepping up the cleaning frequency of our Home. We have also reiterated to our staff to keep strictly to infection control and hand hygiene practices. Our Home had also ceased all visits from 2 April.
Our Home will be taking additional precautions with immediate effect. Temperature taking will be increased to thrice-daily. We will also make it mandatory for our staff to wear additional personal protective equipment as guided by MOH.
We are working closely with MOH and AIC who have extended their support to us. This includes identifying those who may need to be quarantined, as well as reviewing our manpower support to ensure service continuity, if needed.
We understand that many of you are concerned with this development and may have further questions. We want to assure you that we are working hand-in-hand with the relevant authorities. For now, we seek your understanding during this period to allow us to fully focus on managing the situation.
